Collaborations

Atónal Blús
Musical project of Icelandic guitarist Gestur Guðnasson. “Fierce, driven and hypnotic, seeking inspiration among other in rhythms found in ethnic music…..melodic but also turning dark and dissonant with lyrics sung both in Icelandic and English, sometimes blending the two languages….slow and epic, stretching into more improvised soundscapes, but also short, clear and fast.“

I perform on the theremin on the bands full length album Höfuðsynd in 2014.

Harp & Arp
Katie Buckley: harp and effects
Jesper Pedersen: synthesizer and live electronics

Harp & Arp is one of several bands existing in the collective imagination of harpist Katie Buckley and synthesist Jesper Pedersen. Together they perform imaginary music on processed harp and synthesizer. The music of Harp & Arp is a created in the moment as a deepfelt conversation between the two performers. The outcome is on the ambient spectrum with a focus on both tonal structures as well as abstract sonic journeys and textures. Harp & Arp released the EP “The Shortest Day” in 2021 and is working on a full length album.
Harp & Arp was part of Mengi's curated program as a concert promoter for the Nordic Culture Fund’s Puls project in 2020 and has performed on Extreme Chill, Sunnuhvoll Music Festival, Nick’s Virtual Garage, Tranum Strandgård Art and Culture Center and the S27 concert series to name a few.

Resterne af Rigsfællesskabet
Heðin Ziska Davidsen: modular synthesizer, electronics
Jesper Pedersen: modular synthesizer, electronics
Miké Thomsen: voice, Inuit drum dance

Electronic music meets Inuit drum dance. Technology meets nature. Relationships between the remaining countries of the Danish Commonwealth and the last country to declare its independence are explored artistically through live improvised music performance. Resterne af Rigsfællesskabet is Heðin Ziska Davidsen [FO], Jesper Pedersen [DK/IS] and Miké Thomsen [GL]. The trio combines the sounds of modular synthesizers with modern interpretations of the Inuit drum dance and throat singing tradition. The group is investigating the possible musical liberation and artistic freedom within the framework of experimental electronic music and Inuit performance and storytelling. They seek to create a new musical language that embraces and transcends both past, present and future sonic expression and to bring this music to the so called outskirts of the Commonwealth. The music represent a sonic journey that explores a common ground between the three musicians. An open conversation.
Resterne af Rigsfællesskabet released their self titled debut album on the faroese TUTL label.
